The challenge
Matrimonios Venezuela makes documentary and editorial wedding films on Margarita Island, but their films lived on YouTube and Instagram, mixed in with everything else. They needed a home worthy of the work: one that feels like walking into a cinema, speaks to local couples and destination weddings alike, and lets Google understand what they do, without a video-heavy site turning slow.
The approach
I started from the studio's moodboard and took it to a full art direction: a palette of greys with old gold reserved for details, editorial typography, unhurried motion and a WebGL film grain that ties it all together. The films are the centre: a film behind the opening, an index of work with previews and a full-screen player. Underneath, the engineering keeps it light: YouTube's player loads after the page, every image is a WebP sized to its surface, fonts are self-hosted, and the HTML is prerendered with structured data for the studio, its films and its FAQ. Quote requests arrive through a form straight to their inbox.
The result
The studio finally has a home worthy of its films, in Spanish and English. The site is indexed by Google and shows up for searches like “editorial wedding videos in Margarita, Venezuela”, and Lighthouse scores it 90 for performance and 100 for SEO on desktop, even with films playing.
